I have written five articles for Mormon Insights, a website that highlights talks, articles, and videos from LDS.org and related Church sites. I also designed the picture quotes for each of my own articles.

"When it Doesn't Get Easier" explores the idea that sometimes life is just hard, and that is okay. Life isn't supposed to be easy. I felt inspired when I first heard the talk "Do We Trust Him? Hard Is Good," by Stanley G. Ellis. I used my own experiences with depression and anxiety to reflect on his thoughts about the subject of trials and adversity. This article is close to my heart, and I include it in my portfolio because my voice shines through in the discussion of this difficult topic. http://mormoninsights.byu.edu/en/doesnt-get-easier/
"Searching for the Spirit of Christmas" is the first Christmas article that was published on Mormon Insights. I used President Thomas S. Monson's Christmas devotional "The Real Joy of Christmas" in hopes that I would be able to connect with others who sometimes feel the same way I do around the Christmas season: Sometimes we just feel incomplete. Sometimes we never feel the spirit of Christmas, but there is hope. http://mormoninsights.byu.edu/en/searching-for-spirit-of-christmas/
"You Don't Have to Feel Guilty--Depression Is Hard Enough" is my most vulnerable, personal article. It more deeply expresses my ongoing up-and-down battle with depression and the guilt I often feel for having a hard time when my life is so blessed. I wanted to be a light to others who might feel guilty for their depression, or another mental illness, and I felt that "The Touch of the Master's Hand," by Boyd K. Packer, was the perfect article to highlight. Though this article has not been published yet, I have provided a link to download the PDF file of my article as well as the embedded file itself.
